COAT OF ARMS
this was a tough project a client sent me that really pushed me to develop my 3d printing skills and also learn about the many different processes of metal casting. i learnt a great deal about the capabilites of 3d printing during this build and picked up some invaluable techniques through collaborating with our designers.
this project was special for another reason as it taught me the value in delegating tasks to specialists in order to meet a deadline. whilst i had developed a 3d model of the product the client wanted to change it, requiring skills i did not have and could not learn in time for the deadline. together we sort out a suitable model specialist to aid us.
the ened casting also required last minute help from an industry specialist. i
took on this project early in my career and like everyone who is new to a trade and young, i wanted to be the hero and do everything myelf. however, thanks to pressing deadlines from the client, this project showed me the importance of delegation and access to a wide variety of professional contacts.
